For years we've been hinting at a Man Up trip to Alaska. This summer we're making it a reality.

For several years now I've been hinting around the idea of making Alaska a future Man Up Adventures trip destination. Despite this being a sincere desire, we have not been able to commit to the massive undertaking of properly scouting a trip of this magnitude — until now.
At the end of the month I am flying to Alaska along with an Alaska-experienced Man Up Alumnus for an 11 day scouting trip.
My goal is to come back home having successfully scouted two brand new Man Up Adventure experiences: a drive-up camping Adventure and a backcountry backpacking Adventure.
A scouting trip of this magnitude will not only require multiple people (a must in active bear country), many days, hours, and miles of hiking and backpacking (rain or shine), but it will also be a massive financial undertaking. Extensive travel (flights, vehicles, and water taxis), food, supplies, and materials will be necessary in order to return home with a successfully scouted trip that's on-brand with the quality and excellence you've come to associate with our trip offerings.
In full transparency, we've already paid for the vast majority of the travel arrangements mentioned above — to the tune of nearly $3700 — but if we can crowd fund those expenses, as well as our additional on-site expenses (fuel, food, supplies, and materials), we can then funnel that money back into the Man Up mission in other needful areas while still making good on our promise to bring you an opportunity for a curated Alaska Man Up Adventure.

2 Bear Spray Canisters
Alaska is synonymous with wild. It's also synonymous with bears. Bear spray can't be transported on planes, so we'll need to purchase two canisters once we're on the ground.
