The Mission behind Heartwork

A Word About Heartwork

Let's be honest- being a Christian woman these days is confusing.  Not to mention exhausting.

There is a verse in Jeremiah that perfectly encapsulates the struggle of American women:

"They have worn themselves out, but it has done them no good."

(Jeremiah 12:13b, NLT)

Sound familiar? The average American woman is striving and seeking perfection in every arena and wearing herself out, while trying to make it look effortless- and it is not doing her any good.  It, in fact, is inflicting much damage- and not just to herself, but to her family, friends, and everyone who comes in contact with her.  She is hurried, she is stressed, and she is tired.

But there is a better way, a better path, that leads to rest, wholeness, and a rich and balanced life that is rooted in the love and life of Jesus Christ Himself.  He extends this blessed invitation personally:

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

(Matthew 11:28-30, MSG)

And that, dear sisters, is what Heartwork is all about.

When you come away into the mountains with the Lord and fellow women who are also seeking a better way, God will meet you there and show you the path into the rich, abundant life He promises each of His daughters.

More specifically, you will:

  • experience healing from childhood wounds,

  • learn how to break up with the lies you believe,

  • embrace your unique identity,

  • reclaim true femininity,

  • step into true community,

  • and learn how to live in joy, even in the chaos and crazy of any given day.

All of this will happen on our three-day, four-night adventures where we teach these key Biblical principles on the trail during our day hikes, share delicious meals back at the campsite, and then cozy up later around the campfire with a hot mug of tea to discuss the day's lessons in small groups.  Then we cap off the whole weekend with a celebratory dinner and campfire ceremony.

We can assure you that by the end of the weekend, your heart will be restored, lifelong friendships will be forged, and dreams that were long-forgotten will be reborn.

We can't wait to see you there!
